Villa Verde is a very special property. It has been well restored, elegantly furnished, and equipped with the discerning traveler in mind who is looking for a very comfortable, attractive and high-end property with a typical Tuscan country house feel. The property is located in the heart of the Chianti Classico region, on the outskirts of the small village of Monti in Chianti. Guests can easily walk into the village on the asphalt roads that lead to the villa, and in Monti they will find a good restaurant, small grocery shop/coffee bar with fresh pastries, and post office. Villa Verde is located near the larger town of Gaiole in Chianti, and is a 12-mile drive from Siena. The area around Monti is filled with vineyards for well-known wineries, and groves of olive trees for the equally famous extra virgin olive oil.

Villa Verde is on a fenced property that has an electric gate. While on the edge of a village, once inside the grounds guests are treated to beautiful, unspoiled views of the Chianti hills in the distance. The property is filled with a lawn and a well-maintained garden, so flowers abound along with olive trees. The villa's grounds consist of a main house for 8 people, two cottage annexes for two people each, not far from the main house, and a small outbuilding that houses the laundry facilities and space for the staff to use. There is a lawn separating the houses, which slopes slightly down to a pool area that has a panoramic view. The pool has an electric cover (rare in Italy) that makes it child-friendly for safety, and conserves the heat for early-morning swims.

The Main House is charming and cozy. There is an area with sliding panoramic windows that serves as a dining area for "al fresco" meals, and a space for reading and relaxing. This area reaches out to the garden, so it is encircled by the lawn, flowers and stone walls. The first floor has a living room, a smaller sitting room and a kitchen with all modern appliances. There is also a twin bedroom (the beds cannot be joined) with its own ensuite bathroom with a shower on this floor. The entire floor has tall ceilings with wood beams, and wall niches made of stone that are filled with pottery. The artwork on the walls is lovely and inviting, and the floors are made of terracotta.

The second floor can be reach either by an interior or exterior staircase. There is a master double bedroom that can either be a double or a twin bedroom. It has its own ensuite bathroom with a shower. Another double or twin bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with a shower, and there is a queen-size double that has an ensuite bathroom with a bathtub.

The two cottage annexes each have their own charm. Cottage #1 has a very spacious open plan living/kitchen area. The well-appointed living area has a very large picture window to the views, and is large enough to accommodate the entire group as a place to gather. Light pours into this space. The double bedroom has a bathroom with a shower.

Cottage #2 also has a luminous open plan living/dining/kitchen area on the first floor, along with a full bathroom with a shower. A staircase on one side of the room leads to an open mezzanine level with two twin beds that cannot be joined together.

Villa Verde is equipped with air conditioning in all of the bedrooms for an extra charge, ceiling fans, telephone, a fully equipped kitchen with refrigerator/freezer, microwave oven, American coffee maker, toaster and dishwasher. There is a washing machine, clothes dryer, satellite TV, stereo with CD player, VCR, pool towels, mid-week change of linens and towels, hair dryers and a barbeque. A welcome dinner is included in the price, along with 3 hours of daily maid service and cooking service. Guests pay for the groceries. The cook has an excellent reputation, prepares traditional Tuscan specialties, and on request will give cooking lessons.

Villa Verde's location is ideal for touring the Chianti and other parts of Tuscany. Siena is just 12 miles away, and Florence is under an hour's drive. This property combines many features that guests are looking for in a rental, and they will be very content at this lovely villa.
