Villa Il Rigogolo is a luxury Tuscan country villa with a great deal of charm and comfort, located in an area that is ideal for exploring the Tuscany region on day trips. It was built centuries ago in a rectangular form entirely in local stone, and has arches on the first floor, an open arched terrace on the second floor, and a tower in the center. The house is on a hill dominating the surrounding countryside of vineyards and woods, and has fabulous views of the Chianti.

The villa is exquisitely furnished, and combines the typical Tuscan ambiance of wood-beam ceilings, terra cotta floors and whitewashed walls with modern amenities. Villa Il Rigogolo has a telephone with Internet access, fax machine, satellite TV, DVD, stereo with CD player, and hair dryers. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the atmosphere of the property is relaxing and inviting for a wonderful holiday. The grounds are particularly lovely, with well- planted gardens and several places to dine and sit outside. The full time staff does its utmost to help guests enjoy their stay. Two housekeepers provide daily maid service for a total of four hours per day for an extra charge. They are also available to prepare meals upon request for an extra charge.

The first floor arches form the backdrop for a covered loggia with a dining table and a small outside sitting area. Doors from this loggia lead into a fully equipped kitchen and a study/TV room with a sofa bed for one. On this floor there is also a spacious breakfast room and two double bedrooms that can be separated into twins, each with its own bathroom.

Access to the second floor is up a stone staircase that reaches another open loggia that is furnished with a dining table and has fabulous views of the property's grounds and the Chianti countryside. On one side of this loggia are steps that lead to a laundry room with a washing machine. In the center of the loggia there are panoramic glass doors that open into a spacious living room, which has a monumental fireplace. The living room has doors on all sides that enter into three double bedrooms, all with private bathrooms. There are two more doors from the living room into another fully equipped kitchen and the formal dining room.

A flight of wood stairs on one side of the living room lead to a beautiful sitting room in the villa's tower. There are panoramic windows all around the tower, and comfortable furniture for relaxing.

In front of the villa, there is a covered loggia with a dining table and a wood-burning oven for making pizza or bread. Nearby in the garden is the large swimming pool (21 x 42 feet). There is a small structure near the pool that has a barbecue, a bathroom with a shower, and a kitchenette. The views from the pool area are just amazing. In a very far corner of the grounds there is a barn with a separate access in which the owner lives when present, and where the two housekeepers live. Neither the owner nor the housekeepers use the pool.

Villa Il Rigogolo is located in easy reach of major historic cities and towns. It is only 3 miles from Radda in Chianti and less than 20 miles from Siena. Florence is about a 45- minute drive from the villa.
