La Terrazza is a charming apartment located in a restored 16th century farmhouse approximately 10 miles from Florence. The small village of San Vincenzo a Torri, with a bakery and grocery store, is just a mile away. The apartment's location near the highway that links Florence with Pisa and Livorno makes it an ideal base for touring the major tourist destinations in Tuscany. The nearby town of Montelupo Fiorentino is an important center for ceramic production.

Next door to the apartment is the studio and office of the owner, who is a prominent designer and producer of fine clothing and linens. The owner is available to sell her linens, clothing and accessories to guests of La Terrazza.

The apartment is entered through a lovely large terrace, and develops on two floors. The first floor has a large, open-plan living/dining room with two doors to the terrace. A large open fireplace is an important feature of the room, adding to its rustic and casual feel. A small kitchen corner occupies part of this room. The terrace outside the living/dining room offers an ideal opportunity for dining al fresco. It has a covered area under which there is a wooden dining table seating six. Colorful plants and lemon trees in terra cotta pots line the terrace, and there are wonderful views to the surrounding countryside.

The three well-decorated bedrooms, all with wood-beam ceilings, are located on the second floor of La Terrazza. One bedroom has a king size bed, a second bedroom has a queen size bed, and a third bedroom can either be a queen or a twin bedded room. The bedroom with the queen size bed also has a single bed. There are screens on all the bedroom windows. The two bathrooms are on the second floor. One has a Jacuzzi bathtub with a shower attachment, and the other has a shower.

Maid service is provided once during the weekly rental and additional maid service is available for an extra charge. Cooking service and cooking lessons can also be arranged for an extra charge. Guests will find a number of guidebooks in English in the living room as well as a large quantity of wonderful art books in English about fashion. There is a telephone for local calls and Internet access, and guests can use a cell phone left by the owner for which they purchase calls.

The apartment is equipped with a small refrigerator, microwave oven, dishwasher, American coffee maker, espresso machine, CD player, and independent heating. There is a washing machine in the owner's office next door that is available for guest use.

In addition to its easy access to points of interest for sightseeing, there are trekking trails and horseback riding nearby. In addition, the famous golf course at Ugolino is not far away, and there is a new swimming pool in the town of San Casciano. There are also excellent opportunities for food shopping in several nearby towns, and many restaurants within easy reach.

Rentals at this property can start on any day of the week, but must be for a minimum of one week. Additional days beyond one week can be added as well.
