La Loggia is a picture-perfect stone farmhouse surrounded by olive groves that offers a quintessential Tuscan vacation. The owner is an architect who restored it beautifully, maintaining all the original charm and features. It is furnished with lovely period pieces and comfortable furniture. La Loggia is ideal for families or a group of friends traveling together, as the space is nicely divided for maximum privacy and space.
The property's highlight is a beautiful loggia in the Main House that offers unparalleled views of the surrounding verdant valley and rolling hills. The estate is situated on the hillside, insuring tranquility, but is just a few miles from Lucca, one of Tuscany's gems.
The Main House, which sleeps 7, dates back to the 13th century. Two sitting rooms on the first floor allow plenty of space to relax and gather together. Arched windows let light flood in, and stone-paved fireplaces lend warmth and atmosphere. A small study with a fireplace provides a quiet respite. The large dine-in kitchen has ample space for several cooks to get creative together. The double master bedroom is located on this floor, complete with an ensuite bathroom with Jacuzzi tub.
The bedrooms on the upper floor are suites, each with its own sitting room and ensuite bath. One suite contains a double bedroom and a single bedroom that share a bathroom, while the other is a twin-bedded room with its own bathroom. They are spacious and welcoming.
For larger groups the Guest House can be booked along with the main villa; it is never rented separately. The charming stone structure is set below the main house and boasts its own private terrace. La Loggia can be rented for 7, 9, 11 or 13 people, utilizing the Main House and the Guest House depending upon the number of guests. The Guest House can accommodate up to six guests in three suites, each for two people, with ensuite bath. One suite has a large sitting room with a fireplace opening to the garden and a pergola, as well as a kitchen, twin master bedroom and bathroom. Another has a sitting room with a loft bed and a bathroom with a shower. The third is a separate apartment with a dining room/kitchen opening to the garden, a bathroom with a shower, and a double bedroom.
The entire estate is lovingly landscaped, and flowering vines climb the honey-colored stone walls. A path leads down to the swimming pool below the Guest House, which is encircled by lawn and set on the hillside to expose the breathtaking views. Maid service is included.
The house is outfitted with everything needed for a homey stay, including wireless Internet, a washing machine and dryer, satellite TV, and a wood-burning barbecue grill. A nearby village offers shops, the spectacular city of Lucca is just seven miles away, and country restaurants are scattered through the area. This is an ideal locale for seeing Tuscany's gorgeous hills and coastline.
