Guests who stay at Coltorto have an ideal base to explore easily the hill towns and natural beauty of southern Tuscany and Umbria, and to experience rural Italian life in an area largely unaffected by tourism. Originally a large farmhouse inhabited by a farmer's family, the building was divided into two sections. Coltorto's owners converted their section of the building into two apartments, and one has been completed for the 2008/2009 season. The other half of the farmhouse was restored by friends of the owners of Coltorto; a gate divides the grounds between the two sections and the two properties are totally separate.
