This apartment is just on the edge of the small 12th century village of Portovenere on the Ligurian coast. There is regular ferryboat service from the village to the towns of the Cinque Terre. The city of La Spezia, about 12 miles away, is a hub providing transportation to other parts of Italy. Hikers can walk to the Cinque Terre from Portovenere.
The beach is a five- minute walk from Apartment Portovenere, and the dock where boats leave for day trips is also nearby. The apartment is in a residential area close to the village stores (supermarket, pharmacy), and a short walk to restaurants and the waterfront. There is space for two cars in the private garage, a very convenient feature since parking is so limited in the village.
Located on the second floor of a small modern building, the apartment has a living room/dining area, with a large comfortable couch and chairs. There is a picture window that opens onto a small balcony facing the Gulf of La Spezia (usually filled with many different types of boats). The kitchen appliances were installed in 2001, and include a dishwasher and microwave oven.
The furnishings throughout the apartment are comfortable and tasteful, and include oriental rugs and oil paintings. The apartment has a CD player, TV/VCR, WiFi Internet access, washing machine and hair dryer. Maid service can be arranged for an extra cost.
