Italian Vacation Villas is a vacation home rental company that rents villas, farmhouses, and apartments in Italy.

We are representatives of several well-established Italian vacation home management agencies, private estates and select private owners. We offer 450+ properties in all price ranges, from modest apartments to luxurious villas. Most of these properties are in areas of Tuscany, including: Chianti/Siena, southern Tuscany, Lucca and Cortona. Others are by the sea, in Umbria, Venice and the Veneto, in other major cities, or scattered throughout the rest of Italy. We have visited all of these places on our frequent trips to Italy. Italy is the only country in which we offer properties.

This Website will tell you why our company motto is “Personalized Service from Italy Specialists.” It will also show you a large selection of the villas, farmhouses and apartments we represent so that you can get a feel for the quality of our properties, their prices and locations. Our properties are fully equipped, and generally rent on a weekly basis from Saturday to Saturday.

		Alice and Martin visit Italy at least twice a year to inspect properties

The owners of Italian Vacation Villas, Martin Wenick and Alice Tetelman, are a husband-wife team who live in Washington, D.C. They launched their company in 1999 because it combined their knowledge and love of Italy, their passion for traveling there, and their interest in helping others to experience Italy.

Martin and Alice started Italian Vacation Villas after spending many years in other professional careers. Martin was in the United States Foreign Service for 28 years, four of them at the American Embassy in Rome. He then led two non-profit organizations in the private sector for nine years. Martin has excellent Italian language capability.

Alice was involved in political and policy work in New York and Washington, D.C. for over thirty- five years. She worked in high-level positions for the U.S. Congress, state and local governments, and private consulting firms.

Each of the principals has extensive professional experience in running organizations. This helped launch the company, and contributes to the professional manner in which the company has worked with its clients for more than ten years.

Only Italy
We only rent properties in Italy. We have been traveling there extensively for over 30 years, have a strong attachment to the country, and have many personal ties. We love to share our expertise about Italy with our clients.

Before we launched Italian Vacation Villas, we stayed in rental vacation homes in Italy a number of times. We have been in the same position as you are, so we know the choices you need to make and the information you need in order to have a fabulous vacation.

We firmly believe that living in a vacation home is a terrific way to experience the real Italy.

We make frequent visits to Italy to view the 450+ properties in our portfolio. We will help you choose the villa, farmhouse or apartment that is just right for you.

Based on over 30 years of travel and living in Italy, we provide ideas for sightseeing. We do know how long it takes to get from Arezzo to Siena! For our clients, we have compiled a list of our favorite restaurants. You can arrange a car and cell phone rental through our Link to AutoEurope, a company that provides excellent rates and service. We can also steer you to wonderful cooking schools, wine tours, knowledgeable guides who will organize personalized tours for you, and an Italian language school. We have partners in Italy who can also provide additional services such as a cook or help with wedding plans. If you want to take a half day workshop on painting ceramics, we have an expert to teach you.

We believe that personalized service begins with a telephone conversation or email exchange with you about your interests—the dates you want to travel to Italy, where you want to be, the number of people in your group, the type of property you want to rent, and your price range. If you do not have answers to many of these questions, we will give you the information you need to begin planning your trip.

The properties shown on this Website are a large selection from the 450+ properties we have available, from modest apartments to luxurious villas. After you contact us, we will prepare a mailing of catalogues and materials tailored to your needs. In many cases, we can also send you information by email.

Exchange rate fluctuations in the last few years have complicated the pricing of properties. With our partners, we have endeavored to keep prices as reasonable as possible under the circumstances. We intend to continue our policy of offering properties at good value. Our objective is to maintain prices we have set for the entire season. However, we do reserve the right to modify our prices based on significant changes in the relationship of the U.S. dollar to the Euro. Once a reservation is confirmed, the price does not change.
